Equine King Flaxseed Oil is Cold Pressed and is extracted at low temperatures without the use of chemicals. This process helps preserve the delicate Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids and other nutrients, preventing oxidation
Flaxseed oil is particularly rich in unsaturated fatty acids like Omega-3, Omega-6. and Omega-9. Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids, meaning they must be taken in through the diet since the body cannot produce them on its own. Flaxseed oil also contains Vitamin E and other essential nutrients and is protein-free.
- Skin & Coat: Flaxseed oil is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. Omega 3 contributes to the health of your horse’s skin and coat. It promotes the formation of a healthy skin barrier, can reduce dry, flaky skin and itching, and give a shiny coat.
- Joint Health: The Omega-3 fatty acids in flaxseed oil have anti-inflammatory effects and can contribute to joint health and mobility.
- Strengthening Immune System: Nutrients in flaxseed oil, such as Vitamin E, have antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help neutralise free radicals in the body, reducing oxidative stress and supporting overall immune function.
- Energy: Flaxseed oil provides a slow-release energy source, useful for horses needing a weight gain , metabolic muscle diseases or those with high workloads, such as endurance horses. It is free from proteins and carbohydrates. Flaxseed oil provides more energy than cereals. it is easier to digest, less likely to cause digestive disturbances. High performance horses or horses with poor digestion, appetites on a diet rich in flaxseed oil won't have difficulty digesting as a horse on a high cereal based feed.
